THE USE OF GLOEOPLEROUS FOR REMOTE FIRE FIGHTING IN BLIND DRIFT MINES

As a rule, the occurrence of fires in methane-rich dead-ends is associated with a constant potential danger of explosions of gas-air mixtures at the open mouth of the mine or at isolation of deadlock. Extinguishing the fire is much more difficult, since the approach to the fire is possible only from one side –– towards the outgoing hot-hot gases. Almost rarely it is possible to penetrate to the hearth in a dead-end development and directly affect the fire extinguishing agents. Therefore, the problem of remote fire extinguishing in dead-end workings is very urgent. To extinguish underground fires used halocarbons ethyl bromide, freon 114B2 (Tetra ortho di-bromatan) and mixtures thereof. Distantly, the fire in a dead-end development of freon 114B2, the least toxic galoiduglyerodov may serve in concurrent flow of air through the ventilation duct.
